Hypnotherapy has been practised in many forms for centuries and the ancient Egyptians used a form of it in their dream temples.
Hypnotherapy is a feeling of deep relaxation, you are not fully awake or asleep, however you remain totally in control throughout. It is a natural and wonderful state and in fact we all experience trance like states on a regular basis. I explain it to clients as being similar to the feeling of drifting off to sleep. Many people are surprised to find how natural and normal it feels.
Hypnotherapy is all about comfort and relaxation. When you are fully relaxed your conscious mind is switched off and your unconscious mind is able to learn many new things and create new patterns of behaviour: this is why hypnotherapy is so successful.

NLP or Neuro Linguistic Programming is a safe and effective way of changing thought patterns and behaviours and is easily explained as follows:

Stop for a moment and conjure up an image of ''feeling cold''. For one person ''feeling cold'' may create an image of sitting by a roaring fire, feeling warm and cosy, for another person, feeling cold may mean being miserable and damp.
So by understanding the way in which we individually process information, it is possible to learn new coping methods and transform negative behaviours. Our thoughts have an effect on our emotions and behaviours and NLP gives us tools to reframe and change unwanted behaviour.
NLP techniques do not require the use of hypnosis and focus on each individual and the way in which they view the world.
